I use angles and curves to activate my designs. A horizontal aspect and asymmetry often impart a feeling of movement. For me the fun and challenge in designing and building furniture is to create an exciting sculptural form while giving function equal importance.
	Art Deco and 50's Modern styles are compelling influences for me because they were energized by the current advances in technology and looked optimistically to the future. In the same way, my designs are contemporary although they are built using traditional techniques and standards of craftsmanship.
